Our local heritage dates to 1960 when our dad,

Phil, purchased the Alvin Booth Co., in Groton,

which then consisted of a funeral home, furniture

store and ambulance service. Phil managed the

business until 1974 and then operated several

local concerns until his passing in 2010.

In 1985, Michael established the Shurtleff

Funeral Home in Genoa, and in 1989 in Groton

at the former Booth location. Spacious, new

accommodations were constructed on Lincoln

Ave. in 1994. Phil’s legacy of service and personal

attention to the needs of our friends and

neighbors carries on through Mike and Lee.
