King Ferry

Stacey S. Lippincott, 99, of King Ferry, passed away on June 18, 2024 in Geneva.

Born March 25, 1925 in Elkland, PA, he was a son of the late Lee and Lily (Spencer) Lippincott. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 551st Signal Air Warning Battalion in the Pacific Theater. He was also part of the U.S. occupation force in Japan. He subsequently graduated from Ithaca College, where he majored in Business Administration. He retired as an Industrial Engineer after a lengthy career with National Cash Register (NCR) in Ithaca.

An avid sports fan, particularly of the New York Yankees, Stacey was active in King Ferry's youth sports program, coaching and umpiring Little League Baseball. While an avid bowler, his passion for golf was remarkable. A true student of the game, he was a member of Wells College G.C. and Cedar View G.C., winning numerous individual and team titles. He also was a much sought out bestball partner and won many tournament championships at courses around the region. He recorded two aces during his career on the links and shot his age or under some 200 times. He was still smacking it right down the middle at age 98. He was a member of Ithaca Elks Lodge #636 and Clifford Galbraith VFW Post 7127 of Moravia.

He is survived by a daughter, Penny Connors (John), of Waterloo; a son, Douglas Lippincott (Andrea), of Canandaigua; a sister, Maxine Godfrey (John), of Phoenix, AZ; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 79 tears, Pauline (Berrells) Lippincott, in 2023; a daughter, Diane Crego, in 2021; and by his siblings, Dixie Campbell, Patricia Williams, and Gerald Lippincott.
