Patricia J. Oregero

Patricia Joyce Oregero, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Locke, NY, surrounded by her loving family on September 6, 2024. 

She was born on February 28, 1939, at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ, to the late George Biggar and Doris Biggar-Muller. Patricia was a devoted mother of nine and a beloved presence in the lives of many. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Oregero, as well as two of her children, Gary Meyer and Mark Haney. Her siblings Georgiana Schaufler, Richard Biggar, and Bruce Biggar also preceded her in death. 

She is survived by her siblings: Faith Santenello, David Biggar, and Margarete Bogart. Patricia also leaves behind her seven children: Charles Meyer of North Carolina, Diane Garcia of Pennsylvania, Richard Haney of Alabama, Judith Barbagallo of Pennsylvania, John Haney (Tricia) of North Carolina, Sharon Haney of Locke, and Tara Christofferson (Troy) of Moravia. She was a proud grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, and is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Patricia dedicated much of her life to her family, finding great joy and fulfillment in being a stay-at-home mom. In her 50s, she began working at Groton Nursing Home, where she continued her lifelong passion for caring for others until her retirement. She had a special love for animals, especially birds, horses, and dogs, which brought her immense happiness. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held by her family in her honor.
