Norma J. Meeks, 78, of Moravia, passed away at home unexpectedly on April 3, 2024.

She was born on March 2, 1946 in Chaumont, NY, a daughter of the late Joseph and Loretta (Shaw) Ramsey. Norma was an area resident for most of her life, and she had worked as a cashier at the Modern Market in Moravia for the past 34 years.

Along with her partner, John, she enjoyed tending to her home, especially the lawn and flowers, and watching the birds.

Norma is survived by her companion of 44 years, John Leonard; her son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence "Larry" and Lisa Meeks, of MO, and their children, Ali and Lia; a brother, Stanley Ramsey (Ada), of Cicero; and a sister, Carolyn Gambino, of CA.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 9 at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 10117 State Route 90, Genoa. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00-7:00 PM, preceding the services.
