Linda M. Bishop

Linda M. Bishop, 77, of Locke, passed away at home on July 3, 2024.

Linda was born on January 13, 1947 in Trenton, MI, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Rossiter) Sepos. She was a graduate of Lansing Central School and a devout Catholic and communicant of St. Anthony Parish.

Linda was a sales clerk for many years at the Groton 5 & 10 Cent Store, and afterwards at Montgomery Ward in Ithaca. In earlier years, she worked in the accounting office of the Agway Corp. in Ithaca, then as secretary for the principal at Groton Elementary School. All of this was done while working and supporting her husband John on the family dairy and crop farm. More recently, Linda shared her extraordinary culinary skills with her son's patrons at Farrell's Bar and Grill. She loved to bake and share her pies, cinnamon rolls and cookies. Linda enjoyed spending time with her husband, raising her children, and playing with her grandchildren. She loved tending her gardens and spending time at their cottage, fishing in Cayuga Lake.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Bishop, of Locke; children, David Bishop (Susan) and Sandra Harrington (Eric), all of Groton; grandchildren: Colin Harrington and Joseph, Abraham, Carmen, Phoebe, Adam & Steven Bishop; a brother, Kenneth Sepos (Denise); a sister-in-law, Rose Sepos; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her best friend, Marjorie Molino. 

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Martin and Norman Sepos and sister-in-law, Margaret Sepos.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday July 8, 2024 at St. Anthony's Church, Groton, with interment to follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will be held at McNamara Hall in St. Anthony's Church immediately following the burial. There are no prior calling hours.
