Gary W. Hendrix

Gary W. Hendrix, 73, of Groton, passed away on December 8, 2024.

A lifelong area resident, he was born in Ithaca on January 29, 1951 and attended Dryden Central School. Gary was an award winning body mechanic, working most recently at Dave's Auto in Groton. He competed in competition shooting, and enjoyed motorcycle riding and car restoration. He also enjoyed many other hobbies and his best companion, Cody.

Gary is survived by his wife of 36 years, Debbie (Crouch) Hendrix; his daughter, Bobbi Jo Malone (Charlie); grandchildren, Sebastian Closs and Xavier Malone; his sister, Wanda Hendrix (Kevin Boshell); brothers, Raymond Dailey (Teresa), Denny Dailey (Nancy), and Jerry Robinson (Rita); brother-in-law, Paul Crouch (Demaris); special cousin, Charlene Waite (Richard); and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Martha (Munson) Lacey, Sr.; brothers, Steve Dailey and Peter Tiberio; father- and mother-in-law, Paul and Betty Crouch; and brother-in-law, Neal Crouch. 

Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at the McLean Community Church, with the Rev. Chris Jewell officiating. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 2:00-3:00 PM, preceding services. A reception will follow afterwards at the church, and spring interment will be in Groton Rural Cemetery.
