Carlton John Warner

August 2, 1938 — February 12, 2025

Locke

Carlton John Warner, 86, of Locke, NY left us peacefully on February 12, surrounded by family and friends at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. He will be remembered for his kind, caring, and humorous personality, as well as his perseverance to live life independently while managing a disabling health condition.

Carl was born on August 2, 1938, in Groton, a son of the late Nicholas and Beatrice (Hough) Warner and was a lifelong area resident. He attended Groton High School and was a veteran of the US Navy. Carl retired in 2000 after a thirty-plus year career with the Brewer-Titchener Corporation. After retirement, Carl and wife, Linda, enjoyed spending time at their fishing camp on Black Lake with their French poodle, Barkley, always by his side. Carl lived a simple life, focused on what mattered most to him – making memories with family and friends.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Laurie Warner, of Moravia; grandchildren: Deanna Scaravillo (Anthony) and Dylan Warner; his close friend, Kay Sharpsteen; brothers: William Warner (Linda), of FL, Robert Warner, of Groton, and Roy Warner (Carol), of IN; sisters: Ann Sutphin (Gene), of Freeville, Arlene Davis, of NC, and Carol Jean Bower, of Syracuse; brother-in-law: Thomas Ardis (Jean), of Cortland and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in 2010 by his wife of 46 years, Linda (Ardis) Warner; brothers: Gordon, Theodore, Arthur, and Lawrence Warner; and sisters, Elizabeth Warner, and Mary Jane Nielsen.
