Arthur Lavern Leonard

Arthur Lavern Leonard, 85, of King Ferry, passed away on July 24, 2024 at the Groton Community Health Care Center.

He was born October 13, 1938 in Auburn, a son of the late Harry A. and Florence E. (Hovanus) Leonard. Art attended Ludlowville School. He was a hard worker, always doing his best. Arthur was the maintenance man and lawn mower for the North Lansing Cemetery for many years, and he also worked for the Larry Moore Farm in Lansing. Art was a "happy-go-lucky guy," 

He is survived by his sisters: Dora Cooper, of Groton, Barbara Leonard (Craig Carter), of Simpsonville, SC, & Dorothy Hosford, of Union Springs; his brothers: Richard Leonard, of King Ferry, Clifford Leonard (Vickii), of Moravia, Edward Leonard (Emma), of Lansing, & Albert Leonard (Donna), of Auburn; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James Leonard, and a brother-in-law, Bill Hosford. Arthur's family thanks the Groton Community Health Care Center for the excellent care given to Arthur.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 29 at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 10117 State Route 90, Genoa with interment to follow in North Lansing Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, preceding the funeral.
